Getting Started

First Steps:

The syllabus provides information on texts, assignments, and the course schedule. You should also visit the Plato: Apology and Meno page and read the introduction. The Video Lectures page provides a short lecture on the first reading.

A discussion on the Apology is our first assignment. Your first post is due on Thursday of Week 1. The Discussion Guidelines page provides details on how to write discussion posts.

Student Introductions:

Some time during Week 1, please post your introduction in Blackboard. A forum has been set up for this purpose. Your introduction should comprise at least one paragraph, but you are welcome to write more. Please answer at least two of the following questions:

1. What is your major? If you are undecided, which subjects are you considering?
2. Why did you choose to take this course?
3. What do the words Sacred Heart mean to you? Do they have anything to do with why you are a student here?

Contacting the Instructor:

During the week I try to respond to e-mails within 24 hours; e-mails sent on Saturday or Sunday are answered on Monday, except holidays. My e-mail address is pasqualonia@sacredheart.edu

If you have any technical problems, please contact the Personal Support Center (call toll-free, 24/7: 1-877-791-7182).
